I was in St. Maries, Idaho last Wednesday photographing the local railroad with a friend when I saw a taildragger landing nearby, so we went over check out the airport. Anyone else aware of the F-100 mounted on a post there so it pivots with the wind? It's location near the runway suggests its use as a windsock.
St. Maries is in the Idaho Panhandle & is SE of Spokane.

I knew there was one in St. Maries, I just didn't know where. I have updated the location entry for this one. You can find the map at...

http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/LocationDos ... 347#TheMap

The question now is where at the airport. The satellite image is poor in that area. Could it be one of the "blobs" at either Site B or Site C which I have marked on the map?

BTW... This one is 56-3819. I am sure I got that from Andy Marden's book.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Mike, thanks for taking the time to add the map. As far as it goes, it seems to be pretty accurate, but omits the airport so I cannot say for certain which one of the 3 locations is right, but I would guess that it is C as the F-100 is pretty close to the gated entrance.

I have updated the entry. Did you try using the satellite view for the map?

Thanks for the suggestion Mike...I just now tried it & zoomed to get closer. I was mistaken. Actual location is to the left some, but still parallel with the runway.
If you look at it magnified, you'll see that we've placed it near to some tied down aircraft outside. It is to the left of these a couple hundred feet.
