LAWSUIT that could BREAK the BACK of my NAVIES illegal and immoral rule about possession of aircraft, after all YOU AND I actually paid for and OWN them not the navy! WE let THEM BORROW our planes. Here's a thought if they "OWN" them and they CRASH one perhaps they should OWE you and I the replacement costs before they get us to PAY for another one for them to play with, that seems logical to me based on their rules.
that being said and since our elected officials are totally against the freedoms america (lower case on purpose) used to have, maybe the get it and hide it is a better way to go.

S: Took hammer away from midget.

get it ,take it all apart and build new structures to replace the marked and ID'd members of the craft and register as a new build...I'm a navy man,but this is all way toooooo out of hand...Laws need to be changed, the navy sure isn't going to restore them and put them on display, let alone put them back in the air where they should be so my sons can see what an awesome country we once had...so my sons can see what courage it took from they're great grandpa to fly these amazing pieces of industry, so my sons will become patriots and help to secure our country in the future against corruption and deceit...god bless america...now go get the darn thing! Or throw me in federal prison for wanting to preserve a piece of our American herritage!

Versatile,

I have a couple of sites where I am working on buried planes. The Navy has unofficially told me not to dig.

The laws are not the major issue, it is Naval policies developed by the Naval Historical Center. The NHC is attempting to force those policies on civilians as civil statutes as if they were Federally enacted (U.S. Congress) law.

I have very little regard for Naval policies. I will attempt to recover abandoned airplanes previously owned by the Navy and remain within the law as it applies to civilians, as I did with the Brewster Corsair. The Navy claimed that I violated U.S. law but refused to name any statutes, so they simply filed a civil suit to strong arm me. As I have stated before, I had hoped my action would have spured others onward. Historic aircraft should be recovered and preserved from the NHC's complete lack of ability or desire to do so.

If anyone would know of planes on private property that the landowner would allow the recovery of, I would be glad to help you.

The son of my boss is at NAS PAX river and has told me of an ME262 that was pushed into a large hole and semi covered up along with other axis aircraft, and they also have an AR234 sitting on the edge of the shore half way in salt water corroding away into mush! I've seen pictures of the 234! So it is for real!!!!

If it is on someone's private ranch, do you think they will let you get it? That would be sweet.

If it is on private land, dig it up, and go. The AF has released all claims to aircraft crashes from WWII. Who ever owns the property, owns the plane on it.

I have heard the PAX river birds mentioned here before.
