Anybody know what an APG-5 is?

I have a piece with the following on it:

Signal Corps U.S. Army
Target Selector Switch SA-36/APG-5

LOWER TURRET

What is an APG-5?

APG is usually a prefix for a radar system. Perhaps this is from one of the lower turret mounted radars used in WWII bombers? The low number suggests it's from a very early unit.

looks like I was right... if you see further down on this link it lists the APG-5 as a gun laying radar used in the B-17 and B-24.

Not so much a switch, as it is a cover.
I work for Motorola, and the Galvin Mfg. Co. was the forerunner
of the company, which was why I thought the piece was interesting.

I wonder how many of these actually got out to the combat theatres? A version of the APG-5 was also used on the F-86 and F3H.
