I caught the last bit of a movie this morning on TCM called Back From Eternity. A DC-3 goes down in a jungle in South America, they have to repair it and fly it out. The DC-3 was a Wright powered with no cowl flaps. The entry door was on the left with a baggage door behind the entry door. The" N" number appears to be N3116G and was filmed inside a studio. Does anyone have any info on the DC-3?

The flying aircraft may have been a DC-2 (N39165 / msn: 1404)
which I think is still flying.
Of course the studio fuselage would have been a derelict of
some sort most likely.

They started and ran the engines in the studio, the left prop blades were cut down shorter as part of the movie plot? The only flying I saw was at the end and it was a model. The studio plane looked to be a DC-3 as it had the dorsal fin. I'm not an expert on DC-3s.

That was N39165, owned by Mercer Airlines at the time. This film was a remake of the 1939 film Five Came Back, which used the Capelis XC-12 as the troubled airliner.
