Great pic! What year is the calender?

I wonder if the colors are accurate or the color processing for the calender may have changed tints a bit??

Are they -5's, a/c 235?? Looks like the small bump is there, top of spine at seat bulkhead.

Regards,
Mike

I've been waiting my whole life for one of those. A color snapshot of the Vought production line. 8) 8) 8)

My guess is, what you're looking at is the kick off of the F4U-5 production line. If the number on the side of the one Corsair is in fact #238, then the Corsair at the far end of the line should be the first production F4U-5 on the line (according to my goofy math).

The planes pictured would be (L to R) F4U-5's, BuNo.121793 thru 121798. Photo circa 1947.

My take on the pic is this- re: the paint job- the control surfaces & wings in blue were probably components supplied by another contractor. They were then assembled to the fuselage which was primed and built in-house, and all were painted overall at a later stage.

Just a thought-
Robbie

Great pic...check it...looks like two gun port ejection chutes on the wings and a small radio mast (white) on the very end of the tail behind the rudder...more than likely -5 models.

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget.
