This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

In the thread about the T-33s it was noted the T-Bird displayed at Fort Garland, CO, came from Battle Mountain. There is another thread about the relocation of the F-86 as well. Here is the entry in the Locator for the remaining displays (assuming they are still there)...

Is there an effort being made to display these airframes elsewhere? As anyone be there recently to see what remains?

the phantom, the boxcar and the aardvark were still there. The aardvark will only leave in pieces due to a wing box crack. same thing for the boxcar. the phantom could fly out if you threw a couple of million dollars at it. There were other things around but I only observed from the highway. it was a lot nicer to travel to reno in the Baron than it is to drive!

Humm - having been up there I doubt the F-4 would ever fly again - BUT - It would not be the first time I was wrong. It has no engines and has been throughly gutted

It would however make a great static display - we (Wendover Museum) have politely pestered the USAF display program about its status - but I don't know much more about it. It is a former Thunderbird plane and I would love to see it cleaned up and repainted!!
