That photo was taken in 1989. Alot of the airplanes there were damaged from that devestating tornado that went through the Museum several years earlier. In fact, the outside displays looked more like a junkyard then a museum.

I think because the engine and bombay doors are off it looks a little funny.
It's been a while since I've seen the aircraft, as it is in Rhode Island at Larry Webster's, but I certainly remember it in the backyard at NEAM in this same position.

I'd be willing to bet my next paycheck that that lil' feller standing in front of 401SL never felt compelled to look upon a warbird again - TBM or not. I think his facial expression indicates he spotted sumthin' better than airplanes....

I sure do love the atlantic paint scheme on Ida Red... thats the best scheme for the TBM IMHO
