For $2.6 million you ought to at least get a plane whose wings are not bent. Even with that the the Corsair does have it's fans, I think they grew up watching Boyington movies.

BDK, I could swear I watched the BAA BAA Blacksheep series back in the 70's and my friend and longitme EAA Warbird member John Schafhausen said he flew in the series.
But we could be wrong, just like Global Warming, it could be all a figment of our imagination, proably another Demolib plot.

If it is imported BACK to the USA will the Navy reclaim it and sink it off a reef in Florida so the mussels can appreciate the Historical Importance of this fine airplane BEFORE the Polar Bears all swim South and eat them?

The more I learn about aircraft, the more I realize I still have to learn.

If I get it, I'm gonna paint it up in the historically accurate markings that were used in the 1970's television series...just for accuracy's sake. I think Boyington's -7 had autopilot, so I guess I won't have to renovate the cockpit. Seriously though, as long as the wings are bent and the engine's round, I'd be in Hog Heaven...no pun intended.

The wings may be bent, but firewall the throttle, and most of her peers would be smelling what R2800 exhaust smells like!!...and that whistling throught the oil coolers to boot!...she's got it all in my book...

$2.6 does seem a little high though...honestly, more than a P-47? Aren't Thunderbolts a lot more rare in flying condition?
