Here are some WW1 photos I recieved from a reader of my web pages. His grandfather took the photos while serving with the RAF repair facility in Toronto that supported the RAF schools in Ontario. If anybody is interested, I'll post the rest.

Glad to oblige. The photos are all Canucks, mostly built in Toronto but some possibly built by Curtis in Buffalo. The grandsopn of the photographer is pretty sure all the pictures were taken in Canada. The photos in the lower group look like they were taken at Borden. That line of hangars is still partially in existence.

They were all, except one, going to be taken-down recently, but historical concerns, plus asbestos insulation, has stopped it for now.

Beyond the hangars is a line of pines. Borden back then was a recently-cleared pine forest. Photos from then include vast fields of stumps.

The upper photos show established meadows. Perhaps that was one of the original grass fields in Toronto -- there were several other than Barker.

I had a good look at Borden from a Biplane this year -- I displayed a Tiger Moth there at the CFB Borden Airshow in June. Yellow biplanes seem quite at home there! And since the runways have mostly been allowed to disintegrate, there's lots of good firm grass to fly from.
