I watched the landing on CNN, and was interested to see they used a "drogue chute" to slow her down..rather than flaps! I then flipped-over
to Fox for the champagne and speeches. One of the Fox correspondants
regailed us with his "aviation savvie" by commenting that the Hughes
Flying Boat had only flown a mile because of the heavy weight of its
wooden structure!! Sheeeshhh..talkin heads...
