This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Recently I signed up for a full Webshots account, and I am in the process up reposting pics that I had taken down before.
So... FYI I have reposted my pics from 1993. I wasn't going to mention this since I thought I had posted these on the old WIX board once. However, someone has found them and is downloading (Webshots stats) so apparently there is interest. The picture quality is not great, but since we can't walk back in time, they will do quite nicely.

Mike,
Thanks for the look back to 93.
My favorite were the Hamilton shots.

Mike,
Nice shots. I see a lot of familiar visitors to Batavia. Too bad we won't be seeing the Kalamazoo P-47 again

Well you can still go see it... but it just isn't the same is it? I figured someone would like those pics of the Air Zoo P-47.

I'll miss seeing the CWH FG-1D around. Thanks for posting.
I missed out to the Cat flights in the 90's. And most of the Zoo flying. I only got to see P-40N and the F9F-2 they now have. It is sad that they grounded the collection.

I had an opportunity to see the complete flight of the Grumman cats at the Kalamazoo airshow in 1990 when my brother was going to school at Western Michigan - included was a Panther.
Does anyone remember the Cat Flight at Batavia, or when Dale Snodgrass brought the Tomcat over the Tigercat while it was beginning it's takeoff roll? That was one of the all time greatest airshow sights for me. Perhaps a new thread should be started. Photos (?)

Yep! I was there. That display is still #1 in my airshow memories for the "WOW" factor alone. Incredible... the F7F doing barrel roles the length of the flight line with the F-14 in tight formation on the outside of the roll the entire way. Fantastic airmanship from pilots in aircraft of two completely different generations. Amazing! (I'll put those negs in the queue to be scanned)

Now you guys are going to make me scan some prints of the Cat flight at Batavia. Got some cool pics of Snort tearing down the runway chasing the F7F. However, it will have to wait until tomorrow. Those were some good times.
