Courtalds/Desoto (aka Boeing BMS10-11) primer. An acquaintance
has access to an environmental test lab, and this stuff won hands
down over the others he's tested. FYI, PPG DP-70 is the same
MilSpec (albeit a different color) as BMS10-11.

Wearing a respirator is a must... even for spraying rattle-can
zinc chromate. Do some research on Zinc Chromate and you'll
find it is some nasty stuff all by itself. 10-11 is *really* nasty
stuff... you don't want to get it into your bloodstream at all
(the atomized particles can enter your bloodstream via your
eyeballs, or skin if you spray/spill it on yourself).

Anyway, I've also used Variprime (decent stuff) and PPG
DP-50 or 90 on various projects.

Thanks I wasn't sure if I'd be able to buy it! We had it in gallons and these cute little medicine bottles for small jobs. Like you I think that is the best primer made and makes all the difference in your project for resale and aluminum protection. I tried some of that other stuff but it didn't really impress me. It sure is hard going from the land of plenty to nothing but I have been collecting good quality tools and and I almost have a better set up than most commuter and freight airlines . SNJ do you need any avionic wire? I can hook you up with some for the info!
