I thought Tom Cruise broke the sound barrier first. Gabby second, Pappy third .... And Greenwood was in there somewhere too wasn't he? ...

Hi Chris,

My main problem with Yeagers comments is that one would get the picture that warbirds are crashing everyday. And second the comments that these warbird pilots are not skilled. Sure not everyone flying a warbird should be doing it but I say most are good poeple, good pilots, with enough skill to do the job.

They don't crash every day, but we do have some issues. The last few years hasn't been great for warbird safety. We have lost good people and machines. Not all of this is due to their lack of knowledge in the cockpit, but some is. Didn't we jsut have a thread about a pilot that just forgot to but the gear down?

Well, there you go with another example of the attitude of the general public as a whole. No secret that most folks could care less about a bunch of warbird crazy, military history kooky, avaition nutty WIX bozo's ... haha ... We're a major minority and we always will be. Your bank just doesn't dig anything that reflects war, war history, machines of distruction, etc, etc. Maybe you could try a Confederate flag, or is it Commemorative flag ...

MOD edit - I'm locking this thread because we have two running on the same topic and we can't (AFAIK) combine them.

I suggest any responses for here can go in the other thread just as well.
