Do a WIX search on "L-5" and you should be able to find photos of Taylor's L-5 restoration in progress in Texas. There are a group of L-5s down there that have been painstakingly restored in 100% authentic colors inside and out.

It's not completely correct. It's good though. that Camo is one of my favorite paint jobs.

VERY interesting statement there. What about it isn't correct?

Let me preface by saying nothing in my comments are meant to offend or claim expertise, I also realize that it is impossible to be 100% authentic. With that said, I was refering to the poly-fiber green that wasn't available in WWII.

Nothing, looks like a first class restoration. I can't wait to see it up close. I think I can get some ideas from it.

Do you own that L-5 in the picture?

No. The L-5 is owned by our squadron. I am one of the event operators.
BTW, one of my dreams is to eventually get a medevac group to sponsor it and repaint it as an ambulance version in the Philippines. The aircraft has parts from various L-5s, but according to James Gray, our dataplate at least went to the Phillippines during the war.

Jim is definitely a wealth of info. My records show mine being in Barbers Point for a year then sold surplus. Mine is also a hodge podge of parts, I would like to find either a set of droop wings or at least all the parts to make a set.

I'm not sure I follow you. I'm talking about the group of L-5s at Propwash in Justin, TX. They were painted using the patterns and stencils shown on the original blueprints.

It's not the patterns or stencils I was referring to but the color used.

Seafury1,
The wonderful thing about L-5's is there were MANY colors used on the interior of the aircraft. Out at the Cowtown Aerocrafters there are a stack of nos original window frames that are all different shades of green, from the yellow-green zinc chromate looking color I used on all my aluminium pieces, to light avacado, to dark near forest green. So I would beg to differ that the colors are incorrect. BTW they were all mixed by hand, not just generic colors and the aircraft is not quite finished in the paint department, we still have all the stencils to go.
