Oooh, I remember first seeing this bird in the Classic Wings Stuka survivors article a while back, and even though it's a scaled replica, it still looks right to me. The Ju87 seems such a massive aircraft anyway that a replica like this is the best - and cheapest! - option next to restoring a real one. In comparison to the Ukrainian(?) replica this is, IMHO, a much more accurate machine.

Kudos to the current owner for posting these videos! In reply to some comments with the clips, he mentions he's attempted to find a spat-mounted siren replacement but to no avail.....how exactly did the originals work? (he says he has a belly-mounted siren of some sort)

Mitch who owns and flies this replica is a very nice guy. He tries to fly the airplane about 2 hours a week. He has brought the aircraft down to the Collings Foundation WWII reenactment in October the past two years. I do not think the aircraft is a regular at air shows. I have been to several shows in Maine this past year, and it was not at any of them. It gets treated very much like other single engine piston aircraft.

He has added a smoke system to the aircraft, so it is a much more realistic "shoot down" when that happens as part of the reenactment.

Interesting name for the plane. Seems if you still fly an authentic looking Axis aircraft in those parts you might get flogged. :roll:
