This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I do the flying - my sisters take the better photographs - as below. Guess my other sister caught you shooting...
BTW Steve, she liked your shots and asked what kind of camera and settings...

Was this show advertised? Guess I wasnt looking the right places. Thats a lot of rare hardware in one place! Glad you got the pics, Steve! Looks like my buddy Ed was flying the SB2C and the SNJ. Gotta fly the 170 down there sometime.

Not very well, but it has been discussed here on WIX since August or September.

Ryan, tell your sister I use a Pentax K10D and I had a 300mm lens on, all the way out!(I want more!) Well I was using full manual mode and had everything too slow and just got mostly lucky, there were a couple in there that were not useable, about 180th of a sec. down to 90 at around F19-22
Yeah Dan, Ed was piloting the SB2C, not sure who was in the SNJ?

It wasn't advertised because it wasn't an airshow, and as such had no budget. At least that's my thinking. The flying, other than Sunday over the parade route, was just people having fun whenever they wanted to. All the flying was done on our own fuel. Most pilots stayed in guest rooms at local homes. A couple of meals were provided, that's about all, other than the thanks and gratitude of the Pearl Harbor Survivors and their family members.
The main reason we showed up was because we wanted to pay tribute to the survivors of Pearl Harbor, and thought it neat that we were going to be able to do a flying tribute on the exact day, and at the same exact time as the attack. All the fun was secondary, but fantastic!

That first photo is fantastic. Wow!
Any Corsair shots?

Django, I just went back thru both sites and there is only one shot of the Corsair. It is really a great looking bird, but I guess the photographers just overlooked it with all the other rare and exciting birds. Now thats getting jaded when a Corsair is a ho hum just another bent wing fighter....come on Elroy lets go take some more pictures of something really nice. If you photographers need to feel better think of how stupid I was not taking one pic, after all I only had complete run of the ramp both days and nights. Stewert Dawson did a magnifacent job displaying the Corsair and formating with the P-38 and Mustang.
