Interesting: when I got my HarvardIV it also had the wrong t/w (SNJ locking) like Brandon's, and was missing the rear turtle deck fixed window.

Are you looking for the turtle deck window? I know someone who has a spare.

Since it appears we all have had the same parts missing. Now I feel like a Sherlock Holmes or a P.I.:

What was missing on the WIXer's ex-Falcon Field Harvards?

On mine the following was missing:

Front cockpit landing gear handle

Front Seat

Both sticks and the stick yoke

Instruments

Ratchet Valve

Wrong tail gear w/ locking system

Rear turtle deck

Horizontal and vertical tail? Mine don't look original

1 or 2 fairings

1 cowling piece

Missing all but 1 accessory panel behind cowling

Let me know what you all are missing. :?

I couldn't say.

20342 is a big pile of parts, we have most of the major stuff, and that includes gear legs, tail wheel fork, seats, etc...

I'll ask my Dad about 20352...

They must have taken off all the good stuff for the racers and tailwheel coversions while the aircraft were in Mesa. I can't imagine the Canucks did that because the pulley brackets wore out in service!

Luckily I have a brand new rear hood for mine.

Brandon, I do not know which airplane Dale Clark bought, but coincidentally, didn't Les Crowder's project become an NA-50 also?

I actually never met Frank Taylor. All of my negotiation and delivery was through Ken Robertson, who worked for him at the time.

I still need a rear hood. Where did you get yours? Chris, I would be interested in the spare you know about. Make sure it is for a Harvard 4 though. The Mk 2 is completely different. Easiest way to tell is that the Harvard 4 will have a mount for an ADF antenna molded into the rear coaming. You probably have found this out, but thought I would mention it in case...

As far as other missing pieces, I did not get much FWF at all. Certainly all the instruments were long gone, although the old ADF was still in the side console. That's about it. Various linkages were removed, but all the hydraulic actuators and selector valve are there. I did get both sticks. Since the front is a spade grip, I was pretty happy to have that.

This may be a stupid question but why is the mixture control work opposite than most aircraft? I am doing the inspection on ours this week and was just wondering.

By the way, a big thank you to agent86 (Tim) for helping out on my T-6 project today at Chino. We made a lot of headway in gettting the engine ready to take off so I can send it out for overhaul.

Here's a few shots of what's going on at my place:

The Aeronca has about six hours on it now, with just a couple of little things left to do, like painting the ailerons. The flying Stearman (ex N5194N) is in need of her annual, which is next month's project. The project Stearman is N2S-3 BuNo 05284, ex N9198R. Anyone have any old pics of them? The truss (ex Aero Trader) is as yet unidentified, but will be incorporated into the BT as the original truss is rotten.
