What is that spring set up.. Rudder return? are there other picture that are close up to get a better look at the spring at the top. Side view if you have one please. Just PM so not to mess up the game.

Clue: It's a W.W.II type that's one of the few you could classify as 'over-preserved' with more in museums than its very limited success would warrant.
Looks cool though, and that's because you can't see the spring when it's complete.

At least partly correct.
The photo was taken in Jan 2006, in the new Canadian Aviation Museum store - so it might be either, of them IIRC.
