Who makes fiberglass display airplanes? I've been asked to see about quotes for a Thunderbolt to be displayed in the Tuskeegee Airmen colors.

David Tallichet restaurants.........

I have seen a lot of fiberglass P47's in front or in the back of these.

Like this one in NY Long-Island.

Brad...there is a slightly damaged P-47 at the West Palm Beach Airport restaurant. I bet if you contact the owner, ironically enough, Robert Johnson, you could get a deal. It is not that bad, and it is disassembled right in the parking lot.

There are molds for quite a few airplanes floating around out there somewhere. Dave Tallechet was responsible for many of them but I am not quite sure if he still has them. I would contact Carl Scholl from Aero Trader first. He seems to really have his finger on the pulse of the warbird activity. Then you can contact Dave Tallachet and ask him. There has been quite a few requests for them recently for movie work. Problem is nobody seems to know where the molds are.

I think its the 391st BG ...its one of the theme restaurants...terrible, we just had the bombers in there and I can't remember the group, but I am pretty sure its the 391st.

Tallichet has the molds for P-51/P-40/P-47/P-38/Me-109 (& maybe B-24 still). He even had a shop that did nothing but fiberglass. All the airplane folks I know that worked for him ended up quitting in frustration. They either seem to want his money or just to get paid for work they have already done.

P.S. P-47 is pretty expensive because the fiberglass engine takes a lot of time.

I asked why the paint looked so bad and was told they had just made a mold of this
Tallichet A/C.

Although purely unintentional, I believe this is when the Belle looked the best! The wear makes it look more authentic.

I have never heard of Tallichet having an SB2C mold. Did he ever have access to an SB2C?

There's also the Proud Bird Restaurant just outside of LAX. I remember the first time I flew into LAX and peering down on the restaurant. Those fiberglass planes look awfully realistic from an airliner on final approach. I almost pooped myself when I saw it for the first time...but not as much as seeing a real PBY at Ft. Lauderdale...or a pair of C-47s at Charlotte.
