SAC museum update

Howdy all,
Was just at the SAC museum AGAIN this weekend. Live near it and am a member. Working on getting a webshots account running and willpost pics of what is new. For now,
Restored or at least repainted:
C 47 (Incredible)
B 17 (Also breathtaking)
HU 16
H 19
CH 21
C 119
F 86
F 84
F 101
F 102
F 111
T 33
B 25
SR 71
U 2
XF 85 (one of only two bulit)
B 1A (will be the gate gaurd soon)
Others that I will list when I get my notes.
Under restoration now:
B 29
T 29
The rest of the collection can be seen here:

This is a must see stop if you ever find yourself on I 80. Walking into the front door you are faced with the SR 71. The balcony surrounds it with an opening to the lower level directly below.
Join the museum and you get to attend crawl through day the second Saturday of each month. April is their beutiful B 17G.
Hope to get the pics up tonight and will post a link.

Have been reading for a LONG time. Didn't think I had much to offer the discussions until I found this thread. I do have a ton of pics of the SAC museum.

I am sure there are many on WIX looking forward to seeing them. We all appreciate see pics from other peoples local museums because what is local to you is likely very far away for me.

I was there in 2001(?) and I'd love to see some newer pict's. How is the restorations / paint jobs of the aircraft coming?

It works just fine. They really found a fantastic way to display the SR-71!

I have many many more. I also have a whole album of 35mm stuff from before I joined the digital age. The photo quality is much better and they are older. From 1997-1998. There could be some good before and after type stuff. Will try to find some time to scan them in.
If anyone is interested in a specific piece of the collection I can do a whole walk around type series. I go at least once a month and would be happy to take requests.
As I said April is the crawl through day for the B 17. Will likely take pics of the entire thing inside and out.

Wow - great shots! Last time I was there (1988 I think?) the museum was still mostly outside.
I love the B-36 and the Goblin - what neat planes! I'd love to have had a chance to sit in that little beast.
Also, the Hustler is second to none - an amzing looking plane. I just wish I could have been around to see one fly.
