Apparently the latest in a current
string of proposals by the TSA that seem to be in violation of way American's have done business for many years, the TSA is now proposing that all general aviation pilots that operate out of airports also serviced by the airlines be subjected to background checks in order to continue flying out of said airports. See the following links for more details.

I wish there was some way to drill some sense into these people's heads. This will cost more of our tax dollars, and probably accomplish less than squat. GA is not a significant threat.

This is different, only applies to pilots flying out of airports where commercial air carriers operate. If you are already badged, then no big deal. Don't know how it will ultimately affect transient pilots, but I think the keyword is based.

Aviation is learning to deal with what us gun owners delt with for years. a Govt that does not care about the Constitution or private property rights. They will not try to pull this type of sugar with car owners, because everyone owns a car, but aircraft owners are a small group, and everyone know they are rich and deserve to be regulated.

EAA, AOPA, and the other groups need to adopt a no comprimise policy, When someone is trying to cut your arm off at the shoulder, and you talk them into cutting it off at the elbow, it does not matter, YOU LOST
