Dohhhh!!! I shoulda known that. I'm 20 mins from there but
haven't been in a year or so..(health..but getting better..need to start getting out more). I did make the trip to see Eliot Cross first test fly the
Mk9....

Heard Lonestar's Maintenance Chief passed-on a month or
so ago..I wonder how they are getting on after his passing? As I
understand..he had a "lotta stuff in his head". Hard to replace the human
repositories without some glitch-factors!!

Sad to hear that they lost one of their maint, guys. I wonder if its the guy that I talked to when I was there. I know he offered me a job when he found out that I have radial engine exp. Nice museum too, went to see their N3N and talk to them.........only to get a suprise when I looked at their B-25, the maint guy did not know its past history and I wasent sure if I was right either until I talked to my dad after I left that it was the B-25 that used to run around up here in the 80's. We knew the guy and dad even rode it a few times (flew it to dullas for anniversary of the Doolittle Raiders........they did a fly by over the capital with special permission, think a flt of 5 were there.)
I got offered a ride in it to a show but flew in our N instead ( yeah what the hell did I know, I was like 10 at the time)

Well, I hear Mr. Thompson is luuvi'n his "new" sky-puncher. When exiting
Hooks Sunday, he was "not discouraged from put'n on the Ritz". He
beat-down two passes over the field and off he went. All was well until
the "non-discouragers" discovered Raybourne's IFF was intermittingly
acting up. It would have been fine if he was loping along at 170 or so....
but Noooo!!!! Each time the x-sponder came back up...he was'nt where
they expected him! Pedal-to-the-metal Mr. T!!! Heard he punched 10K
in 3mins 2sec...YEEEEE HAAAAA!!!!!!

Brilliant Work Sir!!!!!!

ps,
I love seeing Spitty's flying from "turf fields" too.....
