The Post Office closes early today so I am racing to get over there and ship everyone's DVD orders from WIX out today...we ship First Class so some of you should get them this weekend, and the rest early this coming week.

Love the nostalgia and ordered mine yesterday. My dad flew in the USAF from 1951-55 so he'll really enjoy this. Great work John!

Thanks for the comments...note that everyone who ordered New Years Eve by 3pm Pacific time went out in yesterday's mail. Orders after will be shipped on Friday Jan 2.

Glyn: Steve Canyon has over 14,700 individual strips from January 1947 to June 1988, so that would be a massive undertaking just to scan. Perhaps after the DVDs are over. We have a deal with Checker books who are reprinting by year and are about to release 1955. IWB is releasing all of the Terry & The Pirates strips in 6 first-class handsome hardback volumes.

Jack & Paul: Glad to have you on board! Be sure to let us know what you think of the shows...and just as an FYI, we are perched on the runways' edge and just about to announce VOLUME TWO. (you heard it here first!).

I'm curious if anybody got theirs in todays mail?

Note that I try to get every order mailed the same (or next) day they are purchased...and with the regional Post Office nearby they go out lickety split...usually. And I ALWAYS use First Class...never "RE-media-L mail"...which I despise.

I'll tell you, one friend took exactly one week for it to get to him from Los Angeles to Superior Wisconsin...another in Northern Virginia got hers the very next day after I mailed it...so go figure!

I just now came back from finding that the post awful closed early (at 2pm)...this was after checking online and finding "Normal Business hours" listed for today. So it really honks me off that the orders from yesterday and today won't go out until tomorrow. My apologies.

John - I received mine in the mail in Northern Virginia on Friday, January 2. Very fast service. I looked at a couple of the episodes and they look great.

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to view this great show from the late 50s. I look forward to Vols. 2 and 3!

Thanks to everyone here for your kind words and letting me know that you got 'em ok. I like to hear comments, observations...anything that sticks it's head out that I might've missed. It was fun doing the commentary tracks on these because invariably something new got noticed or pointed out.

Our announcement for The Complete Steve Canyon On TV Volume 2 went pretty well last night and today (although I always freak out a bit when I go to etch things in stone for all to see). I want things to be in the ballpark of being right (at least).

And you gotta know too that there are some GREAT episodes yet to come in both Volumes 2 and 3...

We had an ok turnout of advanced orders today...about the same as Volume 1 did...but what I know now that I didn't know then was exactly what was up with the economy. I'm not going to say anything else beyond that anybody that's willing to post little notices on any of the pertinent forums, well...we really appreciate it.

I almost never do a cold post out of the gate, as I hate spam and I just don't think it's right. I prefer to respond. And given the state of things, we really seriously need all the help we can to get the word out to everyone that this project is intended for (many of whom have said how much they loved it and that they never thought they'd ever get to see it again).

People think sometimes that this is just "our product" but it was my choice to seek out and fight this battle, and it's been hairy and uphill more often than not. Leap of Faith stuff.

Thanks again...and the Volume 1 DVDs I mailed Saturday should start arriving tomorrow (to those of you who ordered). :D

John, do you have any stories about the filming, locations (which Air Force bases were used), etc.? We'd like to hear more!

I do and I will (just as soon as I free up a moment or three)...I will say that they shot EXTENSIVELY at Van Nuys Airport, their "home away from home" from the stages at Universal International Studios, which was just a couple of miles away. You can see those familiar San Fernando Valley mountains in the background in many episodes. When I'm driving around I am constantly looking up at those familiar skylines (I live in The Valley) and imagining that I'm back in time and those guys are zipping around above my head in F-102's...with the amazing Steve Canyon Theme playing in the background (of course!).

I think I just outed myself as Head Geek! Ow!

More will follow soon...
