A Message to Her Majesty’s Subjects of the United Kingdom

Greetings and salutations,

As some of you might be aware a contingent from the great state of Maine is endeavoring to create a new museum, to be located in southern Maine. This museum is planning to focus on the cold war, and with this theme in mind I would like to enlist your help.

While working on some story boards for the summer displays I came across a short article about RAF Bomber Command sending supplies to Loring AFB. After exhaustive research I am unable to ascertain the nature or disposition of the materials sent by RAF Bomber Command. I have been able to establish that the time frame is from the late 1950’s until the mid 1960’s. If possible I would also like to establish which specific squadrons from RAF Bomber Command or the USAF might have been involved, with the ultimate goal of finding some archival photographs that might document these events.

I have recently been in contact with the Royal Air Force Historical Branch, but unfortunately they have not been able to lend assistance. Any advice as to where I should proceed next would be most appreciated.

As ever your most humble and obedient servant,

Robert E. Rohr, esq.

Hope that clears things up a bit...

Hi Rob,
Not sure if they can help but the RAF Museum at Cosford will shortly/have already started (delete as necassary) building a new display hall and plan to base the exhibits around the Cold War.

Might be worth trying there....
