B-25 and Cuba

Tue Mar 22, 2005 9:28 pm

Some time ago I watched a documentary about a woman who worked for the CIA in the 1960s when they were trying to kill Castro. She eventually became his mistress for a while, and obviously she didn't kill him!!! One of the things she talked about was a B-25 they flew out of (Miami?) and dropped stuff in Cuba. Does anyone know anything about a B-25 used for this? Since it was after the Bay of Pigs affair I would assume it was a civilian Mitchell!

There is a photo of XB-MOP in B-25 Mitchell in Civil Service on p. 120 The 1969 photo shows the left nacelle forward of the wheel installed just as framework.

I have a similar photo to that. Shot from the left, with a few cars in the foreground. That could easily be the plane. Thanks guys!
