This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

"Growing up" at Caldwell-Wright had it's advantages (military visitors, resident DC-3s and Battle of Britain B-25):

Unfortunately, a propane heater took its toll on this DC-3:

And here's a Canadian Heritage Flight at Trenton, ONT 1999:

Here's some blue-nosers at Oshkosh a few years back:

And I have no idea where I took this. East coast, maybe Sanford, FL or Homestead, not sure:

The first is one of my favorite shots (I was 10 when I took it, sorry for the poor composition... :) ). The others might be of some interest too:

Rich, Do you have a time frame for this photo? I can account for this Connie for September 1974, and am interested in when and zackley where you shot this picture.
Thanks in advance, and thanks for the HR Photo

The slide is dated March of 1975. We were down at Ft. Lauderdale, and I'm pretty sure that it was raining when we went to Miami (I remember EC-121s in the rain that I shot from the car), so I think this had to be at Ft. Lauderdale. I was 10, so I really can't go any deeper than that. I believe that I took it in January or February, and it was processed in March. How I was off of school at that time I have no idea, but I guess a trip to Ft Lauderdale and Pensacola took precedence.

Thanks Rich, This would have been after she was returned to the owner, as she had been leased for the "textile" operation she was used for.

Rich;
Thanks for posting this photo!
That VS-44 sure looks much better than when we got it up to Stratford in the 1980's!
You must have been there shortly after it arrived in Florida. By the time we got it "home", the paint was really peeling badly and there was much more corrosion on the airframe.
I wish we could've gotten it back then. It would've saved a bunch of time, cost and original metal!
Thanks go to Bob Mikesh at NASM for talking Maureen O'Hara Blair into letting the Navy give it to the New England Air Museum. If he hadn't, it would've just gotten to the point of no return.
She's a beauty today!

Vlado, have you gotten any modern jet rides? I assume that you have some Heritage Flight rides? Phantom? Eagle? Just curious. Wish I would have taken you up on at Sussex when you were there with the Four Horsemen.

Here's a couple from Transfair '77 at Pomona, NJ (Atlantic City). The Bronco is one of my favorite aircraft, but I have few shots of them in "action". The '106s were awesome too!

This is one of my favorite Huey paint jobs (Cleveland mid 1970s), it'd be a cool one for a warbird Huey:

And you know you're getting old when you've taken shots like this:
