While I'm watching a "destroyed in seconds" marathon, I thought I'd scan some slides and send off some to friends around the world (this Inna-net thing is cool!).

The first is one of my favorite shots (I was 10 when I took it, sorry for the poor composition... ). The others might be of some interest too:

The slide is dated March of 1975. We were down at Ft. Lauderdale, and I'm pretty sure that it was raining when we went to Miami (I remember EC-121s in the rain that I shot from the car), so I think this had to be at Ft. Lauderdale. I was 10, so I really can't go any deeper than that. I believe that I took it in January or February, and it was processed in March. How I was off of school at that time I have no idea, but I guess a trip to Ft Lauderdale and Pensacola took precedence.

That VS-44 sure looks much better than when we got it up to Stratford in the 1980's!
You must have been there shortly after it arrived in Florida. By the time we got it "home", the paint was really peeling badly and there was much more corrosion on the airframe.
I wish we could've gotten it back then. It would've saved a bunch of time, cost and original metal!
Thanks go to Bob Mikesh at NASM for talking Maureen O'Hara Blair into letting the Navy give it to the New England Air Museum. If he hadn't, it would've just gotten to the point of no return.

Vlado, have you gotten any modern jet rides? I assume that you have some Heritage Flight rides? Phantom? Eagle? Just curious. Wish I would have taken you up on at Sussex when you were there with the Four Horsemen.

Here's a couple from Transfair '77 at Pomona, NJ (Atlantic City). The Bronco is one of my favorite aircraft, but I have few shots of them in "action". The '106s were awesome too!
