This P-51 was once a regular at Geneseo when owned and flown by Charley Mothon.

Here is a scan of a old duplicate slide of N210D. Taken in Watsonville, CA, May 1971, source of photo is Bob Kennedy but nor sure if he was the photographer.

In retrospect the picture I posted is of (I believe) Bob's 1st P-51D 44-73856 N5077K now "Double Trouble Two" with Dan Friedkin.
You can tell because Bob let his hair grow out at least 1/4" by the 70s.

Yes and no. This is N210D alright, but it is in fact 44-84952. This all started when Mike O´Leary misidentified the a/c in the 1989 Air Classics Geneseo feature. He claimed it to be N210D 44-73273 (see below) formerly based out of Chino. This was then incorporated into the second WW directory, and it has been claimed as gospel ever since. True, N210D was based out of Chino owned by Joe Hartney, but it was/is 44-84952. Hartney then sold it on, eventually going to Charlie Mothon being repainted in the post- war colors. Funny thing is that the WIX registry claims in the entry for 44-73273 that the a/c has adopted the serial 44-84952, while in the 84952 entry it is claimed to have adopted the serial 44-73273. None of these a/c swapped id. with each other, they are still two different planes! Also, the number N210DD claimed for 44-73273 is wrong alltogether. That has been issued to two separate Cessna 210's owned by the same family over the years. Hopefully the registry will be changed to reflect this.

44-73273 N200DD was recovered by Jack Flaherty and sold to Dave Clinton and Don Alderson who stored it. They later sold the a/c to the late John Deahl in Denver. After Deahl's demise in P-38 N6961 the fuselage was sold and ended up being used as "Gunfighter II" 44-73264 N5428V. Here you have an id. transfer...

If it was Sanders Mustang, it would have the S on it like it does on his B-25
