BANNING ANNOUNCEMENT

Fri Jan 16, 2009 6:12 pm

For various infractions of the rules as well as general antagonistic behavior towards other members of the community, Broken Wrench has been banned.

Also, various infractions of the rules as well as disruptive and abusive behavior, Bill Greenwood has been banned.

Neither banning is subject to reversal nor will any further pleas leniency be entertained. These are harsh decisions but necessary ones. Thank you for understanding.

Unfortunately this was outweighed by the negative contributions. I don't take banning people lightly and avoid it at all cost. But eventually you reach a point where it is necessary. I regret that it was.

I liked their input, but I understand your decision Scott. Moderating a forum this large isn't very easy :? We are all very thankfull you started WIX!

Respect to you decision Scott. I must say that I am very sorry for Bill Greenwood :(

Best regards

Some people just cannot hold back from saying thier views and getting mad when others do not agree.

It is amazing!

Making hard decisions and not being afraid to make them is the sign of a good leader and moderator. I know that there are several warbird owners/pilots/operators/maintainers who have intentionally avoided joining our WIX discussion due to the increased vitriol that has been displayed here in recent times. Perhaps the semblance of order which will seemingly follow in the times ahead will be more conducive to bringing them "out of the woodwork".

Although I enjoyed both posters and their comments most of the time, sometimes those hard decisions have to be made for the overall betterment of the forum. I respect and support your decision.

Thanks for everything you do Scott! Your tireless efforts are not unnoticed. :D

At least you explaned what happened and why.
Unlike alot of Mods that get the last word in and lock it, leaving everyone else in the dark. :x

Thanks for stepping up, and handling business as it should. :prayer:

Thanks for keeping us updated, Scott. You have some tough decisions to make, but I know you'll make the right ones. Do what you must to keep order here on the WIX. A better WIX is a better WIX!

Cheers!

Well Scott, might as well mention to everyone that I quit my moderator job. Sorry folks I tried it out but it just wasn't for me. A few things bothered me while having the job and finally I figured it was best I took a step back.

Regards,
Nathan

For the record Nathan and I have a very nice relationship going on here on WIX. We joke, we laugh. I really don't care if Nathan or any other moderator moves a post of mine. I'll ask why maybe, but I'll play by the rules. My only sin is that I guess I don't make it obvious sometimes when I'm joking around. I thought the smiley faces would be a clue to some, guess not ... ... Nathan, Bill and the other guy will be missed, but I completely get the reason for Scott's decision.

I hate to read that Nathan has decided to hang up his guns as a moderator. Nathan and I PM a bit and we respect each other. I tried to talk him out of it but it's his decision. I just want it known that I have no problem with Nathan or any other moderator. So please refrain some of you from stating that a few of us are beating up on Nathan, loosen up friends. Everything is fine. It's a shame that a few folks got the boot and I certainly feel I could have been one of the booted as well. But we ALL here blow it every now and then. Scott has finally had to do something he probably dreaded he would have to do.

There's what? 4,000 or so members here from all over the world and we all hardly know each other and we're all trying to communicate on the internet via a keyboard, it's hard enough to communicate properly face to face let alone behind a keyboard. I'll tell you what, what I type here and who I really am would probably pleasantly surprise many of you as with many others here who supposedly come across as loud-mouthed, self-centered, egotistical and what ever else I left out. I think we all should start to look at the goodness and amazing wealth of information in our fellow WIX members here and do away with all the bull crap that irritates us a bit at times.

Throw some money Scott's way. Money cures everything right? ... :D

Someone explain the paypal thing to me again ...

Click on the PayPal logo.

If you don't have a PayPal account, go to www.paypal.com to set one up first. Of course Scott also takes checks, cash, Skyraiders, attractive female siblings, etc.

Bill Greenwood wrote many of the most interesting, provocative, and intelligent posts to appear at the WIX. It's very hard to see how letting him go improves the quality of the site.
