The crash of the Oregon Air guard F-51D Mustang took place in the spring of 1951. The pilot was 1Lt Richard Price. According to my friend Ernie Wakehouse, who was a pilot in the squadron, Price tried to follow his flight leader into a barrell roll over the lake and went in inverted from about 1500'. He said the body was recovered but doesn't beleive the airplane was.

Hi Jack!

To the Oregon ANG Captain I told you about in the other thread. She said she was going to try and get someone to do some research on it.

The serial number of the Mustang was 45-11600.

Thanks Jack!

I'm also going to contact the Oregonian and the Vancouver newspaper to see if a story was filed on those days.
