Blue Angels on Discovery Tonight

Wed Mar 16, 2005 10:18 pm

..part 1 of an apparent series is showing tonight. A biker program was
scheduled in the local guide...this was a surprise to me.

I recorded it and will watch it later. Discovery's going the way of VH1...endless shows about stuff I don't want to watch...way different than a couple of years ago. Monster this, Bike that....Boring. I know people like that stuff but it does nothing for me. I prefer the regular documentaries like on History Channel.

JohnH..I agree with you there...I originally was hopeful for some of these
shows in order to pick up some handy mechanical techniques etc. Most
of the programs now have devolved into contrived drama! It's a pity,
in my opinion, that there are "budding tekkies" watching this tripe and
are thinking...or worse yet, being put off by... what they percieve as the
dynamics of a successful working shop. Not a good message...

So has anyone watched this yet? I highly recommend it. I can't get enough of this show! Have now watched two episodes....wow it's totally incredible! Nice footage in episode two of the vintage Blue Angels shows with some great Bearcat footage and an interview with the first commander, Butch Voris. I think I'm one of the people that has grown acustomed to the BA show over the years without thinking about all the hard work and sweat these guys put into the show, and how difficult it really is. It's really amazing to see it in progress and how they work as a team. They all seem to be magnetic, charismatic type A personalites also, like race car drivers...which makes the show all the more interesting. Don't miss this show!

No John, I haven't watched it except for part of the show I saw the first
time. When I stumbled across it, I just passed it on to the "hairdryer crew"
....but I missed the Bearcats? Welll, I'll be chasin' re-runs..

Hi,

I had the opportunity to watch this program over at a friends place who has HDTV, as the Broadcast was in HD the photography and scenery was absolutely awesome. Highly recommend seeing it if you can.
