It's the first visit of the Concorde (I know, I know, it's not a warbird but they're coming) Note: One hour rides were only $600.00!!!

The Mustang you were sitting in belonged to Wayne Meylan S/N 44-73423 he crashed in 1987 and was killed. Anyone know what happened to the wreckage?

Great pics, thanks for posting!

Gotta love Fifi's "Non-PC" markings. Was she painted silver then, or bare metal?

What's up with Hoover's P-51 in that last shot? Looks like the "Rockwell International" on the side has been covered with butcher paper or something.

Wow, I didn't know that any C-130A's were still flying into the 1980s...

The silver A-26C is 44-35696 before her history as My Mary Lou was known. The sixgun hardnose was replaced with a glass nose before the significance of the gun nose was known.

Anyone have more pics of the orange-nose P-40? Whose was this? I don't recall ever having seen this one in NMF.

I remember it pretty well due to the rarity of seeing that paint scheme. I'm hoping the next batch of albums has some pics of it.

Always nice to see a Vampire (I trained on them) but the 'serial number' is way out, dating in the WW2 period amid impressed civilian aircraft. So much too early for the two-holer Vamp. In fact that serial was never used on any British aircraft.

That British-painted Mustang looks like one of a couple of Mustangs owned at various times by a guy named Jerry Miles. There is much confusion about numbers and identities of these birds...

1986 was also Moon Spillers' Oshkosh debut of the P-51A/D that is now Polar Bear. You can spot her in one of your tower shots.
