We had a great day at the museum Saturday. visitor traffic is already picking up, we had a big turnout of vols. and we all enjoyed converting money to noise with round engines.
We flew two flights with the B-25 and a few with the Stearman. Carlos flew down in his Yak-52, and a local SNJ and a board member's T-34 both flew in.
The B-58 still has a drooping wing and a mountain of stuff is parked under it. Hangar One is open to the public-Hangar two is parking, storage, shop, parts piles and everything else.
There is a lot yet to do but we have come so far! As a volunteer, I cant express my personal thanks to all the great warbirders who helped with their efforts, their equipment, donations and lots and lots of just plain old encouragement.
The GA hangars across the ramp are almost finished.
Galveston looks like some heavy duty urban renewal now instead of a war zone and it smells like a seaport again instead of sewage and garbage.
A few of our fave hangouts to eat are still down but the seawall is pretty much up and running.
