We have recently found a box containing lots of airframe and engine logs for 2 PV-2 Harpoons.

Hmmm the first one did go civil with N6871C being it's new number, but that is now assigned to a Cessna!? The second one was civilized with N7436C but that now belongs to a Piper? So I would guess neither is registered anymore. The trail gone cold...

Congrats on your find! I have been researching the surviving Poons for a short while...these two PV's I do fear, are no longer of this world...check your next Bud can it could be what remains of the Harpoons in question....There is always a posibility that they could be stuffed away in a hangar or barn somewhere.....I do keep the faith..
My Question to you is, how did you manage to come into possesion of the logs? That could prove to be a great story in itself...What are your plans with the logs if you can't find the current owners? Did someone you know maintain or operate the PV's? Would you concider selling them or loaning them to the HOG (Harpoon Owners Group)????

Here is a picture of a note that was in the box with the PV-2 airframe and engine logs.

Kinda looks like a business might have owned them but we are not even sure this note is for the PV-2's. Notice the date, 1953.
Also in the box was an illustrated parts manual for a C-74 globemaster. Not sure if the C-74 was connected to the PV-2's. These items were located in a hangar at the north end of the Oakland airport, in California.
