This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Mudge,
You come over and I'll give you a ride in the U-11 also! It's not a P-51, but I guess it's as much a "warbird" as any utility type aircraft can be.

I'm embarrassed to say I had to do some research to see what a U-11 was.
One of these dudes, huh?
If I ever get close, I'll even buy the gas.

You beat me to it....sorta.....if you get to where the U-11 is...The O-2 is just a hop, skip and a jump away....I'll "give" ya the ride if you give the plane a drink.....and I don't mean beer....LOL........... It's not a 51 but it does have real battle scars

Its 8:55 pm here ~ I just got home from a loooooong day at work.
I'm touched by your kind offers and proud of my fellow WIXers generous thoughts.
Other forums may exist ~ but WIX has a spirit that money can't buy.
Happy Friday to you all !

Well, Mudge, the airframe is close, but nowhere as nice as the Navy markings. You can check photos of the "Mockingbird" out at our wing's airshow aircraft page (which is being updated)
http://www.pilots-log.com/airshows.html .
Or you can take Karen up on her offer, or be greedy and fly with us both! Her black O-2A is a real class act (just like her!).
{{{HUGS}}} to Karen!

OH YEAH...I'm going up in this. Smokin' that bad there MUST be something wrong with it.

Karen...To paraphrase the "Duke", "Just funnin', hon. Just funnin."
And yes...I've seen the Navy "colors" on the U-11. Way cool.

Lone Star opened today. I will be going down tomorrow to work and if possible crew the B-25 for a ride. And I guarantee I will not be eating BBQ sausage tomorrow!
Does annual membership cost and a lotta sweat equity count as buying a ride?
Doug.

I'm pretty sure I could arrange for an L-5 ride for Mudge if he made it down here. That way he could get a three-way deal here in TX.
Looking for excuses to fly the L-5.

Hey I got some good pics of the U-11 at Wings Over Houston can I send them to you and get a ride in it LOL. Nah I doubt my pics would pay for a ride but I can wish.
