I set up that poll and I forgot to include the Martin B-26....
Actually it was less a case of forgetting than the realization that the type is darn near extinct.
Aside from the ex-Tallichet plane, I'm not aware of one that could be made flyable without raiding the NMUSAF or some other unlikely place.
And unlike the equally rare P-61, I don't know of any currently being restored to flight.

Well, you know--Kermit's B-26 is flying and I was under the impression that the MAPS B-26 (on loan from Tallichet) was being restored to fly. After all, it does have an N-number.

Last I knew, Kermit's hadn't been relicenced since 2001 or so. He told me then that he has stuff coming out of resto often enough to fly a new plane for a year, then put it in the museum. So, technically, Kermit's *could* fly, but probably won't again.

There are seven in the world, not counting the wrecks in PNG and those rotting away in the Gulf of Mexico/Tampa Bay (or the parts & pieces in Ocotillo Wells). The seven are: "Flak Bait" at Air & Space; USAFM; Le Bourget; Hill AFB; Kermit's; and the two Tallichet hulks, one at MAPS and the other at Pima.

Since I'm compiling a list of (preserved) WWII aircraft, I already knew about that. However, I only knew about two wrecks in PNG. I had also assumed that there were a few in the English Channel. Could you tell me a little about wrecks?

Well, this is a good time to enquire about the China P-61 that was rumored
to have beeen purchased and coming to US in late 2004. What and Who
and When is going on with this. As I understand, there were/are 2 P-61's,
one very rough..and one in quite a bit better condition...but only one
purchased...any news??

2 P-61's in China? Please provide more info! Where were they at? Which one is reported to be in better condition?
