Hello, I search some pics of F-4 and F-5 Lightning (USAF or other Air Forces) to do My art

Royal Australian Air Force operated a number of F-4's in New Guinea and in Northern Territory, Australia during WW2. Google them. There is a Lockheed site by Ron Cuskelly that will help.

of course she is, this is the missing plane of St Ex (some parts are on display at le bourget Air museum ( http://ns21156.ovh.net/~mae/index.php?id=810 )

I find it interesting! Do you have any info on unit or location. Also of interest is the paint work on the one next to it.

Mike,
This single shot was in a bunch of photographs I copied with my trusty 20D passing through Australia. The majority of the other shots were 79 Squadron RAAF Spitfires which over a period looped and 'Island hopped' Australia-New Guinea-Australia. So this is the most likely theatre. As near as I can get.

Odd, your last post triple posted! Are you planning on detailing out the turbo further? It is a beast of an area to handle. Most flying ones and a lot of museum ones have theirs missing, disconnected and otherwise "messed up" making it hard to get a good feel for what they should look like. Here is my take on them.
Often wondered about the "F" designation, was it just some redneck in the Army who couldn't spell and went, "Well, Fotograf starts with an "F" don't it"!? Or was it the pilots who said "You are going to send us deep into enemy territory armed only with a camera!?! Well F That!"

Well... they couldn't exactly use "P" could they... it was already taken
. "F" works, at least in the phonetic sense.

Lump them into "O" for Observation, or "R" for reconnaissance (probably couldn't spell reconnaissance just too dang long!) makes more sense!
