I tried a Budwiser American Ale a while back to see if A/Bush can still brew a real beer. It was pretty good.

My current favorite - New Glaris Spotted Cow. Perfect name for a good Wisconsin ale. It's darned tasty!

Zane,
LOVE the Shiner Bock.
I haven't tried the American Ale yet. My brewing buddy has some and he says it is aweful.
My favorite so far is Founder's Kentucky Breakfast Stout!
YUMMMMM :drinkers:

Only comes out once a year (March 19th) and is expensive ($24/4 pack) but well worth it.

I'm a fan of the Tailhook Brewery line of brews...

But I might be a little bias.

Quit teasing everybody. You know that very few people outside of Central Texas can ever taste Shiner. "Let them eat cake, and drink Budwiser."

Some number of moons ago we had a brewery called 'AVIATOR' that made some pretty nice stuff until the investors sold out to a brewing company in Bangalore India and AVIATOR flew the coop.

Current local stuff thats great is anything from SCUTTLEBUTT Brewing here in Everett, WA. or anything from Widmer or Deschutes in Portland OR.

Most American beers now come across to me as tasteless liquids that seem to have used a horse or cow as part of the process

Hey Tim! Im a fan of the Tailhook Ale!!! Good stuff you got going on there!!

I tried the Shiner 100 and wasnt all that pleased with it. The funny thing about Shiner at most places here in Texas...They charge us as an "import"! And its made right down the highway!

Trae, I saw Lone Star in the import section with an import price the other day

I like the Doppel Bock 100. Quite tasty! My favorites are the Hefeweizen types...Try a Julius Echter! wow!

Thats just crazy! You'd think we would get them cheaper than anyone else!

I've been hooked on Rogue "Dead Guy Ale" Its a German Maibock http://www.rogue.com/index.php

And also "Longboard Lager" from Kona Brewing. http://www.konabrewingco.com/beers/longboard-lager

But then again,...I have multiple type & styles of beer in the fridge out in the man cave! :partyman: :pirate :drink3:

For any of the SoCal people or visitors, you NEED to check out Lamppost pizza in Corona. It's 15 minute south of Chino airport and is not your normal pizza place. The IPA on tap I fantastic and in the fall they have "El Diablo Rojo" a very hoppy red ale. The pizza is good too! As a matter of fact I'm enjoying one right now!

I settle for Amber Bock here in FL, back home in TX that Shiner Bock IS the ticket! (occasionally find it in the import section here too!)

YES, YES, YES, YES!!! I love that place! We went looking for a good craft brewed beer and found awesome pizza to boot.

Along the same lines, there is now a small brewery AT Redlands Airport called Hanger 24. I believe they have been in business for just under a year, and their beers are awesome. http://www.hangar24brewery.com/index.htm
