Welcome back from your trip!
I was wondering if you have any pictures of the two P-38's in the Philippines? Also if you have somemore info on them, prospective buyers, possible sale price, a possible estimate on the total number of aircraft,ect.
Any info would be cool. I understand if it's not the time to tell though. If thats the case, please tell us more about the Vietnam Skyraiders and Bearcats.

All I can say about the P38 stuff is that I can't supply photos yet and that the aircraft recovery sponsors will no doubt be marketing the aircraft within 12 months - my estimate is that there are 60+ airframes and that the condition is better than average given the there is great drainage at the site - there is no secret about the location etc as those photos of the aircraft being deposited there have been posted previously. The project is just based on digging away the soil from the aircraft being buried in the photos- in fact the crane even looks the same !!
I stress that I am just an observer here and assisted only in supplying location etc which is why I get to look at the aircraft. The rest is up to the recovery guys and they have a plan and intentions as to the marketing etc - they are acutely aware that the price will go down if many were marketed too soon and the recent increase in recovered wrecks has also impacted on their thinking, they definately have there own ideas on how to go about it. I will be researching the identities of the aircraft and will publish as much info as I am able to.
Vietnam is progressing well but is at a delicate point at present and I would prefer not to discuss more until it has been finalised.

... that we would be seeing an increase in recoveries of some of the rarest Warbirds!? I am sure some of us had dreams of large stashes being found... but 60+ airframes!
I sure am excited about the future of the Warbird community! Just like the vintage car world... restoration, parts supply and engine overhauls will be possible... yes... they come with a price... but possible!
