saab auto in bankruptcy what about their aircraft division?

Sat Feb 21, 2009 9:32 pm

general motors is dumping saab auto to generate $$$, does gm own the saab aircraft division too?? or is it a swedish government entity?? does this sell off of saab auto affect their aicraft division?? saab has made some cutting edge fighters over the years such as the draken & viggen, & most recently the grippen. it would be a shame if their aircraft division is affected too.

That would be a Saab story if I ever heard one.

many thanks for the answer, but it's still saab. does the auto bankruptcy in some degree affect their other divisions?? i was not aware that saab had a computer division too. saab aviation was always cutting edge & very innovative as i said, even before ww 2.

You’re not the first to ask, I believe.. http://www.saabgroup.com/en/MediaRelations/News/2009/saab_one_name_+two_different_companies.htm

Saab Automobile AB (cars) is owned by GM, Saab AB (aviation & defence) is owned by mainly Swedish investors and British Aerospace.
