Found this nice shot of Kermit Week's B-17G s/n 44-83722 taken in 1952 after it use during A-bomb testing at Yukka Flats, NV. Looks sorta like a good project. What's it's status??

Nothing there a little rebar and duct tape wouldn't make flyable again.
Of course, if you want the feds to ok it you'll have to use that fancy 200-mph-rated duct tape.

Isnt that the Fort that the fuselage is mocked up inside the museum, that you walk thru as bombs are falling etc?

At last word this airplane is still in pieces in storage at Ocotillo Wells, CA. It was sold by Kermit to Tom Reilly years ago. Rumor has it that last year it was sold to a group of Canadians who plan to use it in a restoration project. However, there has not been any movement toward that activity as far as I can determine.

There are parts of 44-83722 plus 44-83316 and 44-85813 mixed into that package. I'm not sure it's still available for sale.
