Warbird Information Exchange

Going to be in the DC/Williamsburg area next week and hoping to be able to persuade my wife and daughter to spend 3-4 hours at an airplane museum. We've been to Udvar-Hazy and the Air & Space Musuem, looking for a new one to see. Saw the website for the Virginia Air and Space Museum near Williamsburg, but didn't appear to have many planes. Any recommendations?

Don't overlook the National Museum of the US Marine Corps in Quantico, VA.

A really immersive and informative experience with a few a/c including 2 Corsairs flying in the atrium. Also has a restaurant with good food. You won't regret spending time there.

P.S. I am trying to find a work around to a bug in Internet Explorer introduced by Microsoft last fall. It is not going well. The best advice I have for now is switch to Firefox.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Few people know this but there is Air Power Park on Mercury Blvd in Hampton. It isn't much - it's an outdoor display of some missiles and aircraft right before the La Salle Avenue exit.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Hopefully we'll make one of them although the long term weather outlook isn't the best.

I was there last year. An odd but cool stop. I was the only person there. Not even any workers or volunteers.
