This dark subject is something most folks don't think about until it is too late...I learned this several years ago when a friend of mine was killed in a car wreck and he had no will.... at 35 years of age, he had never thought it was necessary....it is something old folks did.
He had minor children and a wife that were left with a house and car and bank accounts in his name. It took a long time and some cash to settle his estate.
There are things that people need to think about and take action on now for the sake of their loved ones and their estate, especially if there are minors involved.
Wills to clarify what happens to what and who, power of attorney for health care, durable power of attorney for everything else, the disposition of insurance, bank account stuff like pay on death or joint right of survivor...and silly stuff like your Blockbuster account and you e-mail and forum stuff.
Take care of it yourself so your family is not burdened with it.
