Thanks for the compliments on my pictures. I do take pride in my photography and it is very satisfying to get a few great shots out of the many hundreds that I take. I even wait sometimes for 10 minutes for the crowd to clear out in front of a plane so I can get my shot. It is very frustrating. Sometimes I am just in the right place at the right time and I see something come together and Im able to capture it just right. I know you all go through the same thing at airshows.

My uncle is Ronnie Gardner and he is now chief pilot for Cavanaugh Flight Museum. He flew for the LSFM and the CAF for decades. He has flown almost every WWII plane ever produced and has many thousands of hours in warbirds. I grew up watching him perform at CAF airshows and it was very inspiring to me. That is probably why my love of warbirds has driven my to my profession now. I have flown in a B-25, B-17, DC-3, TBM, T-6s, and a P-51 with him and it was always an awesome experience. Here are a few pictures I have of him.

I was told that the Heritage flight yesterday was the P-38, P-51, F-4, and F-16.
I wish I had been there to see it.

The Heritage Flight yesterday was a pretty special sight. I'll post up some pictures when I return to the UK next week.
If anything, today's even more windy than yesterday. Hopefully it will drop a bit before the airshow starts.

Hey, Tim's B-25, with the green dragon on the nose in the pics...where did he get this from? Is this the former Wally Fisk B-25 'Buck'? If it is, it is our old Colorado based 'Can-Do' and before that 'Bronco Bustin' Bomber' with Don Davis...I forget the N number...

Yes, Tim Savage's B-25 is the former Wally Fisk 'Buck U'.

This is the Wally Fisk B-25 and the dragon nose was painted on very recently.

Hmmm...don't know why that question was posted twice...anyway...
Never knew it as 'Buck U', always looked to me like it was 'Buck' in photos with a horseshoe behind it that everyone took as 'U'...anyway...good to know she is in good hands and still flying...also nice to see Fisk fitted a top turret to it, we kept telling Jerry Tepper he needed one when he owned it.

Nice Shot, Rob...yep, ol 'Buck' has had a very active life since leaving Colorado/Wyoming, not that she was stagnant out here either...glad to see she is in good hands with Tim now, someone who values a good warbird and has the financial means to support a plane like her...
Nice shot of the P-38 above, Chuck...funny we did'nt hear about the P-38 exploding into a ball of flame like that...

And chuck, the picture of you sitting in glacier girls cockpit... wow!
Incredible.. great to be you! Someday I want to hear the story of
how you convinced them to let you sit in there! Any more cockpit
photos of the girl? Sounds like a great feature article in an upcoming
issue of the mag? hint.. hint...

I didnt get any cockpit photos of the Duck because it was not open. They had started performing an annual several weeks ago in preparation for Sun N Fun. Kermit broke his leg about the same time and all of this came to a hault. So it is not airworthy at this point and I dont think that there are any plans to fly it now.
AFAIK, There is one flying Duck and another is being restored. It would be great to see Kermits back in the air again.
I have a few other cockpit shots but they look like the one that is posted. It is amazing how far away the instrument panel is away from the pilot. And I didnt ask to sit in the P-38, the pilot invited me to. Steve Hinton is a really nice guy and he was quite busy all week talking to all of his admirers. The way he flew the P-38 with such finess during the show was outstanding. A beautiful sight to see.

I saw the heritage flights on both Friday and Saturday. Very spectacular! Does anyone know where the F-4 came from? Why has the Air Force taken a few out of mothballs? It sure was a pretty sight!

The F-4 is a drone from Tyndall. One pilot is part of the Heritage flight. He's a contract pilot with Lockheed Martin. They have several drones in fancy paint.
