All,
I am having issues with my HP laptop. I ran a "smart defrag and optimizer" yesterday that is supposed to be soooooo great and when I came back and rebooted I had no internet connection. The computer does not even recognize there is a wireless card installed.
I ran a system restore twice (2 different dates) and reinstalled windows to no avail.
Any recommendations before I take the thing skeet shooting  ?
Regards,
Mark

Can you do a system restore? Should be somewhere like Start>Accessories>System Tools.

You could do an image restore but beware, it will erase your hard drive so make sure you have everything backed up. It restores your computer to its original condition the day you took it out of the box. This was the only way to fix my computer when my speakers stopped working one random day.

Could you point me in the right direction to perform this. I learned my lesson before and store everything on an external hard drive now so wiping my hard drive and doing something like this is probably my best bet.

Mark

Check to see if your device manager has a yellow ? on any of your hardware pieces. You may have a driver that is messed up.

If all else fails, you will have to find the motherboard drivers and reinstall the drivers to your motherboard for the laptop.

Thanks for the help guys.
I called HP and they had me send the notebook back to them and they apparently put a new motherboard in it.
It has been working flawlessly since.....knock on wood.
Thanks again,
Mark
