Hi all,
I read the most fascinating thread on another forum, (sorry I can't remember which one) asking the following question? (I am paraphrasing, not quoting) .........Have you ever had any paranormal experiences on an old WWII base. I had heard tales of ghostly sightings, cold spots, etc, on ships but nothing on bases. I find this subject fascinating. I have visited Gettysburg several times, and have read all of Mark Nesbitt's books, "The Ghosts of Gettysburg", and I read several other books on haunted places, and would love to hear of others encounters. I would like to also extend this to any battlefields that anyone has had the honor of visiting.
Thanks guys!!

i've been to gettysburg many times, i love that place. just such a nice getaway. we have went 'ghost hunting' several nites and had the normal cold feelings in spots, just feelings like you shouldn't be in a spot (which could be more in your mind than anything else). several photos though we have taken show lots and lots of orbs!! one picture in particular has so many, it honestly looks like someone blew bubbles in front of the camera.
the only other wierd experiece was in what is known as triangular field. if you are familiar with it, it says that electronic equipment fails sometimes while in there. well, my brother's camera when we were in there suddenly ended the roll fast forwarding it and then reset all the date time info. while we were looking at it, trying to figure out what was going on, a lady came by to ask what was wrong. i told her about his camera, and a few minutes later i heard the lady down in the field a bit cursing and yelling, her memory card was saying full but she just cleared it out and had just 2 pictures on it. wierd stuff!!!

Very Cool Brian!
Yes, I am quite familiar with the triangular field. We haven't taken any electronics in there. I will have to try it and see what happens the next time we visit. If I have my way, I want to retire there. I had a psychic medium tell me once that I was a "Military Leader in a past life"

Maybe that explains my draw to the place! I would love to see your orb pictures! Have you tried taking any over around the Robert E. Lee memorial? I understand that place lights up like fireflies on some nights. Which given the number of men who died in such close proximity to ne another there, it is not surprising! Fascinating! Thanks Brian!
Best wishes,
Karen

You might also want to try a bit of fiction...
Ghost Pilot by a dear departed friend of mine, Anton Emmerton:
http://www.alibris.com/search/books/author/Emmerton%2C%20Anton
His dad was a Spitfire pilot during WW2 and Anton remembered his dad putting him in the seat of a Spitfire when he was a small child. As I recall his dad was killed during the war, so a lot of this book relates to this loss.
Anton was well on his way to completing a full-size Spitfire replica when he died suddenly of acute leukemia.

Karen,
While walking the fences in Wendover about 2 years ago my brother and I were moving down a row of WWII barracks. it was a warm summer evening and no wind to speak of.
One of the wooden doors on the old barracks just quietly swung open and then shut - not slammed shut but really, "closed". Neither of us saw anything other than the opening and closing or felt "cold" or the like. Still, I have no explaination for this occurance and neither does my brother. Perhaps it was to serve as a reminder of those who gave all for our freedom.
