This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Things have been busy around here.
We are a couple weeks out from getting the Roush motor back for Bald Eagle.
The other resident T-6G here is in assembly mode as well.
QEC being built up
Wheels on mount were for painting.
Landing Gear after paint. Most everything in the gear except axles and trunions have been replaced with serviceable or new parts. 20 to 50 years of use without disassembly takes a toll.
R/H upper gear

Old Airplane Syndrome.
Engine/prop had 1400+ hrs.
Cracks, corrosion and time had taken a toll on parts of the airframe. Some poor maint was factored in as well.
It was a bit more in depth than anticipated but it should be back on its gear in a couple days and then the motor will be reinstalled after a Covinton O/H.
Should be sweet when done.

This slide arrived via ebay in this morning's post, dated 1992, and will be the Biggin Hill show of that year. Small in the frame and not the sharpest, it is certainly the best I have seen.

I was at that show... I even took a video of it. I will have to look through my photos when I get back from travel, but I definitely took some shots of the aircraft... prior to getting good lenses though, so who knows how good my images are. but definitely remember this aircraft flying. Fantastic show though.

Do you rent rooms? I'd love to live at your house!

What a beautiful place to be.
How's Ben? (from an old school hockey player) Better I hope.

Ben has been participating in various therapy programs across the country. He has some movement at the ankles and lower leg. He is very close to moving into an addition on their home which has been built with mostly volunteer labor and much of the material was purchased at reduced prices. This also includes an elevator and an in-house workout/therapy facility. This will greatly improve his ability to access his home.
He has a great attitude and has been a tireless participant in working to improve his his body. He recently received an award for courage at the CB South Ice Hockey Club banquet where he was given 2 standing ovations.

Hey Rich, want a "no expense paid" vacation in Chino for a few months? I could provide a cot and floor space in the hangar in exchange for you finishing up my T-6. Really, this is a good deal! (For me!)
