C-47's in Movie "A Bridge Too Far"

Which C-47's were used in the movie "A Bridge Too Far"? Great footage and back in 77' & they didn't use CGI! I would assume these C-47's survive today.

The C-47 hanging in the D-day museum was in it. One scene, where the pilot stick out of the window and the engine starts turning, that is her.

It's also interesting to note why the aircraft are painted in the light brown paint scheme, which is not authentic for the ETO; as happens so many times in the film business, the art director was afraid that Olive Drab aircraft would get lost on film since green landscape of the landing zones would be so prevalent below them.

Jerry, I guess I was brain dead in noticing the light brown paint instead of OD! Was hoping some of the particpants were U.S. based.

I'm not sure, but I think some of them are now. I think a few of the Danish ones migrated to the US. i think The VAC's "Tico Belle" was in the film and was an ex.Danish AF.

Here is N58NA as I knew her. This is 42-93096 that was in the movie. In those pics, she is in her june 6th markings that were painted on her when she flew freight in Burlington. My father was the one that did the research on her history and did the markings.

She now hangs in the D-day museum, for the life of me, I dont know why they repainted it???

Covered door hinges. Covered, I think, to prevent static-line, 'chute etc hang ups caused by catching in the mechanism.
