Love Floats. Learned to fly back in 63 with my uncle in northern MN. on a 180 on floats.

A 195 on floats! Way cool!

Gotta love the Duck!

(I can't help but think "Peter O'Toole" every time I see a Duck picture)

That's no 195, it's a prewar cessna 145 airmaster. Easy to confuse though they do look very similar.

Yak 11 fan - can you tell me if the Catalina N96UC was on display as billed? Did it fly or was it just static?

Mon May 04, 2009 1:59 pm

If you are asking about Kermit's Catalina, It was towed down towards the lake, sitting near the end of the short runway.

Many thanks for that confirmation

Sorry...but that makes it even more way cooler!

Thanks for the correction!

Can anyone tell me the Ducks stalling speeds, power on and power off, please? I've never been able to find out and neither the manufacturers Flight Manuals nor the Navy issued manual even mentions them.

Thats the Mallard that used frequent Stratford! :D
