I restored some broken links in this post, and also was able to stop by and check out the planes over Christmas. The T-33 remains behind a locked fence that surrounds the football field but a little recon found a spot where a fallen tree allowed access for a few quick shots. The stone base is completed and lists the names of contributors to "Miss Nettie's" restoration.








The A-4 is looking a bit worse and is showing some corrosion under wing as well as around the plate that holds it in place. Sure could use some TLC.







It still says "Curt Watson" on the rail, but just barely. Watson was a member of the Blue Angels, played football at Tennessee, and was a graduate of Crossville High School.

Curt "The Crossville Comet" Watson got his nickname while playing fullback for the Tennessee Volunteers. The name fit well his flying career in the Navy that included a stint with the Blue Angels. I attended one of his homecoming airshows in Knoxville in the early 80s.
