This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Yes, 'Here Kitty Kitty' is the ex-Kalamazoo one I believe. At the media briefing for the show yesterday, Frank Mormillo said to Steve H something along the lines of, "there will be three Tigercats and five Bearcats, isn't that right, Steve? "and Steve answered, "no, two Tigercats."
So I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

okay, so 5 Bcats. The two Friedkin cats, the Thai Rod Lewis cat, what are the other two? Is the CAF Bcat up flying again?

CAF one is still parked at Burbank with a broken engine. No idea where the other two are coming from. Steve H ferried one to a new owner in Arizona last week (from Kalamazoo) so that could be a possibility.

Since the Thai cat is only one of 4 flying Mr. Lewis owns, I would guess his are the remainder of the 5... Sure wish I could go see that !!!

I'm assuming either JS or CL hasn't told SteveH about going...
We want to get a flight on the VNY Tcat before next Friday in case there's any squawks that need sorting... Don't want a "But it was fine when I parked it 2 months ago" scenario

I didn't see a B-17 on the schedule. Does anyone know if Fuddy Duddy will be making the hop over?
Tue May 12, 2009 12:52 pm
No Fuddy Duddy. Jim Dale will be bringing another of Rod Lewis' Bearcats from Texas.

Whatever happened to the Bearcat and Tigercat owned by Bob Pond? The Bearcat originally belonged to the Fornhoffs; Bob kept it in its copper paint. The Tigercat was a two-seater N model IIRC, named "King of the Cats" w/a cartoon of Bagheera wearing a crown.

They're both grounded and parked up in the Palm Springs museum, along with the remainder of the Pond collection.
The Bearcat is now painted gloss blue, with another example of the 'tasteful' nose art that seems to be in vogue at the moment.

Tigercat latest:
Rod Lewis's 2 are there, JC's is out on the ramp at Van Nuys awaiting test hop this evening & JS's is U/S. So that's 3....
However, it hasn't actually been confirmed with PoF that Joes T'cat will actually be there yet..

As of late afternoon Wednesday, May 13, FIVE Bearcats and two Tigercats are in residence at Planes of Fame, Chino for the airshow. I understand that even another Tigercat may arrive soon, am I correct?

Yes, sometime on Friday if everything goes to plan.
